Ask me Anything December Edition
+ A last minute no shipping gift guide & an Italian Christmas playlist
I hope you are having a sparkly season filled with people and places and things that you love. Here in Rome, the tree is up, the streets are strung with lights and the Piazza Navona Christmas market is back! My boy is home. We have been watching silly Christmas movies and eating panettone for breakfast, seeing pals, and taking long walks with stops for fancy coffee and favorite churches.
A last-minute gift guide for the Italophiles in your life
In case you didn’t finish your holiday shopping I made you a quick no-shipping gift guide. If you really need something tangible under the tree or menorah you can wrap up some grocery store treats like good dried pasta and tomatoes and coffee with a printout of your gift.
A Kindle book is my go-to no-shipping required gift. Here is my list. (You should bookmark this because I am always updating it. Need something for a Befana stocking? This is my list of actual books.) Not a Kindle person? How about a collection/subscription of recipes from the chicest Umbrian farmhouse?
Gift vouchers for Italian experiences are another great choice. A few ideas are a voucher that can be used for tours in Venice, Rome and/or Florence with Walks, a food tour in Naples, a private mozzarella tasting in Capri. Or how about cooking lessons with Judy Witts Francini or Domenica Marchetti? Is someone you know coming to Rome? Get them a RomePass. What about Venice? How about a few days of unlimited vaporetto rides?
May I suggest a year of Gillian Knows Best that includes the archive of all of my lists and monthly ask me anything sessions?
