A few of my favorite instagram accounts to follow for Italy inspiration
You are there anyway, it might as well be pretty
We all probably spend too much time on Instagram. I have an alert set that tells me when it’s time to put the phone down and go for a walk. Sometimes that works.
After the past two years of staying close to home and to what is familiar I am thinking about travel again. I am by nature a creature of habit. I will be going to Ponza for San Silverio and to Venice for the Biennale (doesn't this year’s theme sound amazing?!) and to Capri to see Holly’s new garden project. I also want to explore some new places in Italy too. I have been scrolling the Instagram explore page looking for accounts that give me a sense of a place. What it looks like, what kind of food there is, what there is to see. The best ones make me feel the place.
I am going to assume that you know about the superstars like Girl in Florence and the Minchilli’s. And my friends that I regularly see in real life and tag in stories and posts like Agnes of Understanding Rome and Elyssa of Romewise and Venice by Bridget
The world is a heavy place right now. I have worked to curate an Instagram feed that informs me but also brings beauty into my rectangle view of the world. These are a few Italy accounts that make me stop and smile when I scroll. I hope that they inspire your travels and make you smile too. Tell me your favorite Instagram accounts (or are you spending more time on TikTok?) in the comments.
