Fammi una domanda November 2025
My holiday watch & listening lists + a provocative photography show in Venice

December gets all the holiday attention but I think that here in Venice November might be busier. We have Ognissanti (this year the votive bridge connecting Venice to the island of San Michele was back!) the Fiera de l’Oca, (goose ravioli!) Festa di San Martino, (there is nothing sweeter than hearing tiny Venetians banging their pot lids with wooden spoons, dressed in red capes and decorated crowns marching up and down the via Garibaldi) Festa della Madonna Salute, (we had a full house and full days with friends from Dublin1 and Athens and New York2) and finally Thanksgiving (we are going to dinner at Nevodi on Thursday and having people over on Friday for turkey and pumpkin pie.
My dinner party hosting tip is to bookmark Life Lived Italian’s perfectly curated playlists. This one from Dyptique and this one from ChickLits are also excellent. We are not allowed to light a fireplace here in Venice but the Netflix one is a pretty good substitute. Looking for an idea to bring to a holiday party? I received this hot sauce as a gift and it is fabulous. I am ready3 to put up the tree and hang twinkly lights everywhere. Noah and Dani will be here soon. We will be in Venice for Christmas. I haven’t even thought about New Year’s Eve yet. What I have spent hours doing is trying to spot our newest and arguably most charming resident.
Coming to Venice? (or Rome) Did you know you can meet me for coffee (or a spritz) to talk about your trip and get my advice on eating and shopping and sights to see? I promise to never ever talk about CrossFit 😉 Or take a slow stroll with me and see some of my favorite places. If you are a planner, we can have a chat before your trip. Or maybe you want to book a tour directly? Walks is having a Black Friday sale. 4
