In Rome I know all kinds of secrets. I can tell you exactly where and when to stand for a terrific sunset picture of the Colosseum. I know what dish (and table) is best at which restaurant and what days they are closed. I know about secret museums and quiet parks. I don’t get lost.
In Paris I am tourist. I have been many times, but it I have never lived there. I know that I would venture further and be more adventuresome if the city was my home. The reality is I don’t venture far from the 6th arrondissement. My vacation philosophy is if you enjoy it, do it. I love an extravagant breakfast at Les Deux Magots and steak frites in a brightly lit bistro.
These are a few of my favorite things in Paris. Tell me yours in the comments.
