An island dispatch + details on a magnificent mosaic

Yes, we are still in Italy. No, we don’t have our residency paperwork or the keys to our house yet. My solution to the uncertainty was to hop on a boat and go to an island. (being able to do things like that is a big part of why we decided to stay in Italy after Mark retired) I almost forgot about the stress and I definitely enjoyed being back in one of my favorite places for one of my favorite festivals. There were boats and fireworks and after beach day beers at Bar Tripoli and Maga Circe and impromptu spritzes with pals on gorgeous terraces.
