Gillian Knows Best guide to non-Italian food in Rome
20+ addresses for Rome's best ramen and tacos and doro wat
Many years ago I was having dinner in New York at a Korean restaurant with my pal from Luxembourg and he asked me do I ever get tired of Italian food? My answer then is the same as it is now. My love for amatriciana and cicoria and pizza mortadella knows no bounds but sometimes I crave a spicy samosa with a cup of chai or a rich bowl of Tonkotsu ramen.
The non-Italian food scene in Rome has changed dramatically since I arrived in the early 2000s when the Sardinian restaurant down the street was considered exotic. Today you can find Tex-Mex tacos, Venezuelan arepas, Brazilian sushi, and Korean Bibim-Bap.
