I am bookmarking this for when I get back to Verona one day. We took the kids back in 2008, I think. While we didn't get to explore the city in depth, we did have a good walkabout. Our favorite places were the arena and the Giusti Gardens. The kids were pretty young back then and loved exploring the garden paths. It was March and there was no one else about.
We both really want to go to the Giusti Gardens! Alas, they are in the opposite direction of the dentist. I think we will spend the night next time we have appointments.
We ate in Osteria di Ugo on our only trip to Verona many years ago. I remember the delightful waiter, the cornmeal cookies and a lovely bronze colored grappa from a big beautiful round bottle with a wooden cap.
Perfect article, I’ll be in Verona for 3 nights before 4 nights in Vicenza, and then Venice! Hoping for good weather, but don’t have a problem reading a book, meandering churches, and shopping at COS. 👍
It really is a great place. I only spent half a day there, but I was able to experience the "Bacchanal of Gnocchi" which is the highlight of their Carnevale. The arena is wonderful as well!

A Bacchanal of Gnocchi sounds like just my thing!
