I want to go, even if the temps are in the 80s F. Home temps are 97 today and headed upward. Early morning outdoor chores and then stay inside. Cool showers really help too.

Explore dark and quiet churches is also my advice to visiting friends who are only able to travel during the summer season. The cool marble floors are a welcome break from the scorching sampietrini!

Great advice! I remember living in Matera during a boiling hot July and being amazed at entire Italian families strolling around town at midnight eating gelato. Loved it.
