Love the going to church advice. They're so so cool. Also portici and cortili interni here in the north do the job of giving some much needed cool air.
I want to go, even if the temps are in the 80s F. Home temps are 97 today and headed upward. Early morning outdoor chores and then stay inside. Cool showers really help too.
Explore dark and quiet churches is also my advice to visiting friends who are only able to travel during the summer season. The cool marble floors are a welcome break from the scorching sampietrini!
Great advice! I remember living in Matera during a boiling hot July and being amazed at entire Italian families strolling around town at midnight eating gelato. Loved it.
Thanks for the great advice. A siesta is also an excellent idea.
Excellent tip! 💤 (I am a terrible napper, except at the beach)
There’s hot and there’s Rome Hot! I’ll take the Rome hot if it means I get Rome too.
Rome misses you!
Make friends with Italians who aren't afraid of fans and won't whine like babies that the air is giving them some invented ailment.
😂🤣😂

Midnight gelato is the most delicious gelato!
